Dorset was Montgomery Ward's in house watch name for decades. This model has a Seiko 17 Jewel movement (like their Seiko 66) sold under their old Universal Time company name as a 29C movement. Its just the right size 38mm.

Converted from a POS quartz with poorly lumed hands to a sweet little 2824 with much more readable hands in the dark by our good buddy barnbuilder Ron!!! You don't know how much I appreciate the work you did on this Buddy!

No Tim, I just don't wear it much. I've had it right around a year I guess. Got it for a song on eBay because of the lousy photos and its an oddball. Nice watch. Not in the class of 66's or PC's vintage but for $25 + shipping.....

I remember you posting the Dorset before. I thought it was pretty cool that Montgomery Ward had their own brand of watch!

Yeah, back in the 60s that was apparently the thing to do for major department stores. It used a Seiko movement sold under their old UT label, was cased in Hong Kong, and is a fairy nice watch given it was meant to be an entry level diver-style (water resistant) watch.
