Friends of Oris Flood Sale
This came in today....
friends of oris - new year flood special
Welcome back to another year of Friends of Oris and what a start to the year it has been.
After us Aussies watched the English belt us in the cricket Queensland decide to have a flood. The state capital Brisbane had its first flood since 1974 and what a mess it made.
The office survived but a lot of Queensland is still under water so as a result we are having a sale on a couple of dive watches to help aid the recovery.

Re: Friends of Oris Flood Sale
Profits to the charity... any money received for goods is considered a "sale." The word "sale" doesn't have the single definition of "discount." (sheesh )
I'd like to see them do an auction, and get well over MSRP.

The watches weren't in the flood...
A "garage sale" is where they sell stuff cheap... or an estate sale.

Re: Friends of Oris Flood Sale
Sorry for the confusion. I just thought it was nice of our Aussie colleagues to try to help out the flood victims. That and the FOS forum is a nice group, if you like or own an Oris watch.

Re: Friends of Oris Flood Sale
Very nice of them to try and help! when you think the flood is bigger than the counrty of France in land mass it kinda puts it into perspective! Saw a creek overflow and play pinball with cars in a parking lot and must have been the capitol of queensland flooded, huge skyscapers but below the streets were all flooded!

Re: Friends of Oris Flood Sale
They said this morning that of the several floods happening (some are in little or no population to speak of), that the total land mass underwater/affected covers the countries of Germany and France, basically twice the size of Texas.
A couple days ago, several players at the Australian Open were involved in a fund raiser to raise money for flood relief.

Re: Friends of Oris Flood Sale
We were flooded out last year at the office. 5 days with 3 feet of water inside the 1st floor. Watched sedans floating down the street outside the building that 1st morning. To think of that happening on the scale that it is happening in Australia is just mind boggling.
