Big Disappointment today
Well, I had to go to a mall near Downtown Atlanta that I just plain don't ever go to because of where it is and who frequents it. But, its the one place that has a Toureneau in Atlanta (such as it is).
The NYC store has these brands available for inspection:
Tourneau Audemars Piguet Baby-G Baume & Mercier
Bell & Ross Blancpain Breguet Breil Milano
Breitling Bremont Bvlgari Cartier
Chopard Citizen Concord Corum
Cuervo y Sobrinos Damiani Dior Watches Dior phone
Ebel ESQ by Movado Gc Swiss Made Gérald Genta
Giantto Girard-Perregaux Glashütte Original Graham
G-Shock Gucci Guess Hamilton
Hermès Hublot Invicta IWC
JACOB & Co. Jaeger-LeCoultre Jaquet Droz Krieger
Longines LP Italy Luminox Maurice Lacroix
Michele Watches Milus Montblanc Movado
Oakley Oceanus Omega Oris
Panerai Patek Philippe Pathfinder Piaget
Preowned Rado Raymond Weil RITMO MUNDO
Seiko Suunto Swiss Army TAG Heuer
TAG Heuer MERIDIIST TechnoMarine Tissot Tourneau
U-Boat Ulysse Nardin Vacheron Constantin Vertu
Von Dutch Zenith
The Atlanta store has these:
TAG
Bremont
A Lang & Sohne (which their corp. website does not indicate they are an AD for BTW)
Tourneau
Breguet
U-Boat
Ulysse Nardin
Raymond Weil
Omega
Montblanc
Movado
Corum
Longines
Hublot
Breitling
Bell & Ross
Chopard
And not that many of any of them but the Breitling and Omega cases. Long narrow store. But the most disappointing thing was that the vast majority of them are all 100% high polish models. Weird, just plain weird. The # of actual tool watches (outside the Omega and TAG cases) approached 0 with the exception of the B&R and Bremont brands.
At least this time they didn't pretend to be my newest bestest friend. But the BS that the sales people were spouting to the two men their looking at watches (one was looking at ALS's and the other at Chopards) was just staggering.
Was wearing both my 757UTC and my Sinn hat. It was a very disappointing trip as I thought, well it's been a couple of years perhaps its better.

What? No Invicta? They have Invicta at the Orlando Tourneau Outlet. I was looking at Breitlings when I went so I really didn't pay much attention to the other brands available. I did notice that they had Rado and Hamilton though.

NYC for the US Open. We have day tickets for the opening weekdays; Monday, Tuesday, both day and evening passes; and day tickets for Wednesday; then Yankees tickets Wednesday pm (provided by a fellow Robin works with, the last name of DiMaggio... yep, that same family).
Then meeting up with some folks, discussing some possible upcoming employment opportunities.

Yes, thanks. That's the one I was referencing above. Been there a couple times already, but it's always worth another visit. Also Wempe.

You are kidding about the Breitling store, right? Why would they need 4 levels? Do they have that many models?

From here: http://professionalwatches.com/2010/05/breitling_is_scheduled_to_open.html
Breilting Marketing Director, Lisa Roman, just informed me that they will be opening a new three level flagship store on 57th Street in New York City.
Breitling, luxury Swiss watchmaker since 1884 will be opening its first US store in New York at 5 E. 57th Street this fall.
The 8,500 square foot, three level store will showcase Breitling's entire collection of fine timepieces from the Breitling, and Breitling for Bentley lines as well as an assortment of special limited edition models. The store will also feature a Breitling technical center for after sales service.
Marie Bodman, President of Breitling US, comments, "Breitling is delighted to be a part of such a rich retail environment on this venerable street."

She did great! She's tough. She'll be going to physical therapy tomorrow. Doc said she has very bad arthritis in the knee and will eventually need a knee replacement. But for now, this will help a lot. Thanks for asking Bro!

Excellent!!!
There is a modern Breitling I like, but everyone else on the boards has poo-poo'd it.
The Breitling Abyss SuperOcean II with yellow chapter ring

Re: Big Disappointment today
I'm liking the looks of that Super Ocean but I do prefer the old style bezel. I guess it wouldn't really look that good with this dial though. MSRP??? As for the wife....I think she should buy me that watch for being her personal private nurse! Hell I even wore fishnets and stilletoes!
