Loupes, etc.

I,m looking for a loupe and a springbar tool. I think I've found what I need at Otto Frei's website, but wanted to get some input before go time. B&L 4X loupe is $10-11. SB tool is $25. Am I in the right ballpark ? I looked through a 10X and I didn't like it. Jeweler said a 4X would be good. Thanks.

Depends on what you're doing with the loupe. I have several and sometimes the 10x is needed. You can find them with two sets of optics 4x & 10x (one on either end).

On the SB too - also depends. The Bergeon 6767F is a great tool and runs around $25 us. You can get it way cheaper on eBay. I've bought from this guy and it is about $15 shipped. Got mine in 3 days and its 100%.

Thanks for the reply Doc. SB is this one[url=OFrei Springbar Tool]http://www.ofrei.com/page_226.html[/url]. Loupe is just for looking at my watches in greater detail. Admiring the dial more closely.

The FB-504 from OFrei is a great choice and cheaper than the same tool with "Bergeon" on it. I get more use out of my 6767F but if you want the big fork for moving straps the 504 will surly do the trick for you.
