Watch weight...Is it important to you?

My preference in watches leans towards models that are on the lighter side of the weight spectrum. I want to know that the watch is there, but don't want it sliding around my wrist and banging into my hand (I wear my watches slightly loose).



I have notice that some people prefer very heavy and/or large watches as well as watches that are made out of tungsten. Since that is not what I prefer to wear, I want to know whether the weight of a watch is a factor when a person is considering buying a watch. Is it a deal breaker if a watch is light?


A couple examples of some pretty heavy watches (in my mind) are the Swiss Legend Men's Tungsten, Lum-Tec M-Series Tungsten and many Invicta SAN models.

I like some weight, and I've had titanium before, and the lightness of that didn't really bother me. I think for me, tungsten might be a bit too heavy.
I've never felt the watches mentioned (Invicta!!! yeeewwww).

I like SS. I owned a Ti watch and it was just too light. My Sinn is pretty hefty with the SS bracelet attached at 215g.

I have never owned (or even touched) any of the watches that were mentioned, but I know that people will often comment about a watches weight and how heavy it is. I see this with MANY invicta or other TV brand owners.

Now that I mention it, I have not noticed it that much at some of the other forums that do not cater to that BS...interesting!

I had an Invicta SAS that weighed in at 1 pound! Yeah, you heard right....1 freakin pound! That was traded off in a 3 watch deal with my buddy sheraortho. I was having a difficult time bonding with the JSAR because that was feeling a little heavy but am okay with it now. I guess I prefer a watch that weighs under 200g.
