Chromalight - another Rolex boondoogle? Empty Chromalight - another Rolex boondoogle?

Post by docrwm Mon 30 Aug 2010, 3:13 pm

Found this online when looking at lume issues (one of my favorite topics).

"For a decade or so Rolex used the Luminova and Super Luminova produced by the japanese Nemoto & Co LTD, starting 2010 Rolex switched to the more modern Chromalight system."

But I can't seem to find anything in the least technically specific about this supposed "more modern Chromalight system".

I've read "i thought Chromalight was just the Rolex Marketing Machine hard at work" and ""Chromalight"© is just another example of a fancy word that Rolex uses for it's parts, just like "Parachrom"©, "Cerachrom"©, "Paraflex"© etc".

So, anyone have any leads on technical info regarding this Chromalight "system"?
